Electro-fusion

Electro-fusion is an advanced method for joining polyethylene pipe and differs from butt welding and compression techniques in that it melts and fuses the two pipe sections together using electrical resistance. This technique is ideal for pipe to be used in pressure and other high stress situations. It maintains approximately 90% of the original pipe’s strength and polyethylene's other desirable properties such as excellent UV, chemical, corrosion, build-up and crack resistance, thus creating a tough, long lasting joint. Electrofusion can also be used to join saddles and fittings such as threaded end sections.
